Weather at sunrise: spectacularly sunny, 6ºC, windy

Cathedral Cove and Hahei Beach

The plan was to hike to Cathedral Cove and Hahei Beach. However, due to the heavy rains of the last couple of days, most of the walkways were closed because of the danger of landslides. Thus, I contented myself with a long stroll at the beach, joining the dog walkers and kayakers. The coffee at the Cove Café was heavenly!

Whitianga

The Marina at Whitianga was the last stop for the day. Although it got warmer (14ºC!), the wind picked up and heavy clouds rolled in again.

P.S.: On the matter of landslide: the song “Landslide” by Stevie Nicks (was on in the breakfast place in Waipu two days ago!)
