It was a long 31st of October for me. I left New Zealand at 21:30 and, after a 13+h flight, I arrived in Vancouver at 13:45, both local time.
Vancouver greeted me with regular November weather conditions: cold, cloudy, wettish. So I was over the moon to be warmly welcomed by Jon at the airport. We went to pick up the rental car – a stylish, almost new Hyundai Kona – and he guided me safely through the Thursday afternoon traffic to North Vancouver, where I got another warm welcome from Sue.
Before the scrumptious Hamburger soup dinner, Jon and I went on a longish walk through the neighbourhood, encountering the odd trick-or-treaters. It was Halloween after all.
